The Swedish music scene is occupied by so many good bands that youll probably be amazed and shocked at the same time. Especially if you were a four piece band from the outskirts of the east coast aiming for a breakthrough, superstardom and dreaming of world tours in a not to far away future. But Streets of Mars doesnt even flinch facing the odds. With the brand new EP Streets Of Mars, freshly singed by well renowned TJ Management and being the primary signing target for several record companies and the reason for the bands confidence should be crystal clear for even the most cynical pessimist.
The band consists of Zizmonds energetic and romantic vocals, Tobbes catchy guitar riffs, Sakibs commanding baselines and Mats pounding drums. Combined with the four personalities of the guys you got the most democratic and talented band that has rocked the Swedish soil in years. This has brought the band airtime on national TV on multiple channels, a live gig on the Swedish major radio station, and the highly sought-after prize Best International Band at the New York International Music Festival.
Streets of Mars formed as a band ten years ago and have been building both reputation and songs through a remarkable amount of gigs and Zizmond and Tobbes massive songwriting talent. They are inspired by artist such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2 and Smashing Pumpkins but have indeed found a sound of their own and a massive fan base. The key to that is, accordingly to the band, to not shut anybody out and to create songs that are penetrated by pure quality, utterly honest and brings the feeling to the listener. Whether it is a feeling of happiness, love, understanding, chest-beating spirit or anything else doesnt really matter to Streets of Mars as long its a feeling that gives something unique to every person in their audience.
