Illfigure
ILLFIGURE was founded in Norrköping, Sweden, in the fall of 2004. Their intention was to play aggressive and heavy metal with melodic ingredients. In the fall of 2008 ILLFIGURE decided to take matters in their own hands and finance and produce a mini album that became "Chaos Tranquility". It was recorded at Endarker Studio in Norrköping, Sweden, with Magnus Devo Andersson (Marduk) as co-producer and engineer. He also mixed and mastered the album.

"Chaos Tranquility" was, among others, noticed by Close-Up Magazine in Sweden. In issue number 110 of May 2009 David Jannati wrote; "The material has a strong imprint of American thrashing, the way it sounded in the late 90's with bands like Slipknot and Machine Head leading the way, and it also has the typical Swedish strong choruses" and "The width reaches from groove metal fists to the face like 'Bleed' to the rock ballad 'Home'." He gave the album a 7 out of 10. This lead to ILLFIGURE playing on the Close-Up Stage at Metaltown in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2009. This is what David Jannati wrote about the gig in Close-Up Magazine issue number 113 of September 2009:

"Corey Taylor of Slipknot would most likely appreciate the roaring of Max Malmgren. The front man of Norrköping based ILLFIGURE is a natural talent who shares a lot of Taylor's mannerisms. They are for an example both quick to get the masses in front of them to eat from their hands. The melodic outbursts of aggression from the five man strong band are woven together with great finesse by the two guitarists. The whole performance is extremely professional with a strong presence by the collected unit.

It is not just any unestablished band that can keep their audience engaged as the drummer in the middle of everything takes a break to propose. Congratulations future Mr. and Mrs. Merkel!" He gave the gig a 7 out of 10.

ILLFIGURE aims high and will not be content until the world lies before their feet. The major part of 2010 has been dedicated to writing new material for a full-length album and recordings have now been finished and mixed at Endarker Studio. Once again ILLFIGURE worked with Magnus Devo Andersson. Now ILLFIGURE will put all their energy into getting out and play live as much as possible to spread their music as a plague over the world and to find a record label that can help them spread the disease.
