LOUGHY
Originally from Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare in Ireland, LOUGHY relocated to Stockholm in 1996 and currently resides in Sweden.

Initially having toured in Scandinavia with established rock-trad combo Celtic Fusion in the nineties, LOUGHY fell in love with
the Swedish landscapes and culture and returned to the Scandinavian capital to live.

At the tender age of eight, LOUGHY began performing Irish traditional music on the tin whistle before moving on to the
button accordion, under the guidance of the great Paddy O Brien from Birdhill. Study of classical piano enabled LOUGHY to
write and structure his music in a more professional manner.

His first live performance came with Dennis Liddy and family at the age of fifteen and subsequently LOUGHY would
establish himself as a well-known touring musician over the next twenty-five years in Scandinavia, Germany, Holland, Spain,
Ireland and England. Solo performances were intertwined with various band performances including those with CELTIC
FUSION, THE STOMPING
CLAWHAMMERS and TRADALSA, a jazz-trad fusion trio with Shane Mac and Pat Wright.

Performing bass with THEATRE CLUB including Brian O Connor and Neil Graham from Limerick and Brian Friel (4-time Irish
banjo champion) from Kerry. During his time in Sweden LOUGHY studied and completed a diploma in Music Production at
STOCKHOLMS MUSIC KONSERVARIUM & KULTURAMA in Stockholm enhancing his technical music education and
experience.

In 1998, LOUGHY recorded and produced his first solo CD SIDETRACKED. Today, he is a member of FADA, an Irish
Traditional Music duo with Brian Friel and performs live with established artists such as Christy O Leary (uillleann pipes) and
Bert Divert (bouzouki).

LOUGHY manages his own production studio where he has produced and mixed Brian Friel's solo banjo Album Karusell
(2012) and also various tracks for Brian Burns albums Stockholm Sky (2011) and Kites of Jaipur (2014)

LOUGHY has taken to the stage with Nancy Griffith, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers as well as ASLAN. LOUGHY has also
appears on the Helena Sjöholm tribute Album to Ted Gärdestad ’Fånga En Ängel (Catch An Angel).

His new album 'So Long Gone' was released in November 2015 in Sweden with a live gig at the world famous Stampen
venue in Stockholm and with a concert in Sixmilebridge in February 2016 in Ireland.
